Ivy Creek Campground and Trailhead

Ivy Creek Campground and Trailhead is a small, remote camping site located in the Rio Grande National Forest near Creede, Colorado. The campground sits at an elevation of approximately 9,500 feet and operates from May through September. It contains four sites equipped with picnic tables and fireplace rings. A vault toilet is available, but there is no drinking water, firewood, or refuse receptacles on site. Sites 1 and 2 can accommodate small trailers or tents. A footbridge crosses Ivy Creek to sites 3 and 4, which are suitable for small tent camping only. The road leading into the campground is narrow and rough, making it unsuitable for large trailers or RVs. Parking space is limited. The trailhead offers clear directional signage and hitch rails. The Ivy Creek trail extends 1/2 mile to the Weminuche Wilderness boundary before switchbacking up the drainage toward Fisher Mountain. The area features open grassland and a free-flowing creek.
