About

The Jud Weibe Loop is a short, steep hiking trail located in Telluride, Colorado, offering panoramic views of the town, the Telluride Ski Resort, and the surrounding San Juan Mountains. The trail is accessible year-round and is popular for exercise and dog walking. It starts at the north end of Aspen Street, crossing a bridge over Cornet Creek before ascending through ponderosa pine, spruce, and aspen forests. The route reaches a high point of approximately 10,000 feet with an elevation gain of roughly 1,100 to 1,200 feet. The trail is well-marked and well-trafficked, making it suitable for beginners and families, though the steep incline requires moderate fitness. Parking is available at the trailhead. The trail is named in honor of Jud Wiebe, a forest ranger who contributed to the local trail system.
