About
The Jud Wiebe Trail is a steep, short loop hike located in Telluride, Colorado, on the southern side of the valley. It serves as a popular local route for exercise and acclimatization, offering panoramic views of the town, Telluride Ski Resort, and surrounding San Juan peaks. The trail is approximately 2.8 to 3.1 miles long with an elevation gain of roughly 1,200 feet. It begins at the north end of Aspen Street or via Liberty Bell Road, starting at an elevation of 9,990 feet. The route is accessible year-round due to its southern exposure, though fall foliage peaks in late September. Parking is available in the surrounding neighborhoods near the trailhead, as the immediate trailhead area may lack dedicated lots. The trail features two overlooks with benches and is suitable for dogs on leash. Hikers should bring water, as facilities are limited.
