Jumbo Campground

Jumbo Campground sits on the northern slope of the Grand Mesa near Eckert, Colorado, at an elevation of 9,786 feet. Located between Jumbo and Sunset Lakes, the site offers 26 campsites, most with electric hookups, set among mature spruce and aspen trees. The terrain is hilly, providing privacy between closely spaced sites, though drivers should note the challenge of the slope. Facilities include vault toilets, drinking water, picnic tables, and fire rings with grills. A few sites are accessible. The campground is pet-friendly and allows RVs. Visitors use the location for fishing, canoeing, and hiking in the Mesa Lakes area, which contains over 300 lakes. Brown, brook, and rainbow trout are found in the adjacent lakes. The West Bench Trail is available for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. Deer and elk are common wildlife. The campground operates from May through September. Parking is available on-site.
