The Kodels Canyon Route Spur is a difficult, point-to-point hiking trail located in Grand Junction, Colorado, near the west entrance to Colorado National Monument. The route begins at a trailhead accessible via Highway 340, just past Kingsview Road and before Dinosaur Hill. Parking is available at the trailhead. The trail climbs from an elevation of approximately 4,591 feet to 5,155 feet, covering roughly 0.9 miles one way. The terrain features steep inclines, uneven ground, and rocky sections. The trail is open year-round, though conditions vary by season. Historical remnants of a prospector's cabin and mine are associated with the canyon, though the specific spur route focuses on the physical ascent. Dogs are permitted on the trail.
