Lake San Cristobal is Colorado's second-largest natural lake, offering excellent fishing for rainbow, brown, and lake trout in a spectacular mountain setting near Lake City. This 340-acre lake features a boat ramp, shoreline access, and nearby campgrounds. The lake is known for producing large lake trout (Mackinaw), with some exceeding 20 pounds, along with good numbers of rainbow and brown trout. Trolling is effective for lake trout in deeper water, while shoreline fishing produces rainbows and browns.
