About
Little Bear Campground is a first-come, first-served site located on Forest Road 116 in Cedaredge, Colorado, within the Grand Mesa National Forest. Situated directly on the shores of Island Lake, the campground offers shaded sites surrounded by spruce trees. It is managed by the US Forest Service and features approximately 34 to 36 campsites across two loops. The terrain is moderate, with tight loops that accommodate tents and smaller travel trailers up to 24 feet, though larger rigs may struggle. Amenities include picnic tables, restrooms, running water, and on-site parking. Recreational opportunities include fishing and walking paths along the lake. The campground operates seasonally from May through September. Pets are allowed. Access involves driving north on Colorado Highway 65 from Cedaredge for about 16 miles, then turning left onto Forest Road 116.
