About

The Lollipp Cutoff is a short, moderate mountain biking route in Aspen, Colorado, located within Smuggler Mountain Open Space and White River National Forest. The trail connects the BTS Trail, Tootsie Roll Trail, Smuggler Loop Trail, 10th Mountain Trail, and Iowa Shaft Trail to Hunter Creek trails. The defining feature is a tight, out-and-back switchback known as the 'lollipop,' which adds technical challenge to an otherwise direct path. The trail spans approximately 0.3 miles with an elevation range of 8,915 to 9,115 feet and a total gain of about 200 feet. It is open to bikes, dogs (off-leash), horses, and hikers from April through October. Parking is available at the trailhead. The route is recommended for riders who are short on time or seeking a quick, technical connection rather than a long ride.
