Lory State Park is a 2,591-acre foothills destination in Bellvue, Colorado, located about 10 miles west of Fort Collins near Horsetooth Reservoir. The park features over 28 miles of trails traversing pine forests, grassy meadows, and sandstone rock outcroppings. Fall hiking is accessible from September through November, with moderate difficulty trails averaging approximately two hours. The terrain includes rugged sections suitable for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Amenities include parking, restrooms, and five picnic areas. Leashed dogs and horses are permitted. Entrance fees range from $10 to $15 for a daily vehicle pass. Trails may close due to muddy conditions to prevent erosion. The park offers views of Horsetooth Reservoir and historic sandstone quarries.
