About
Lost Lake Campground sits at 9,637 feet in the Gunnison National Forest near Paonia, Colorado. The site features 18 tent sites, 18 RV sites, and five horse-accessible sites, all operating on a first-come, first-served basis. Access is via Forest Service Road #706, which branches from County Road 12 (Kebler Pass Road). The road is approximately 2 miles long from the intersection and involves tight turns on the final stretch. The campground is open from mid-June through September. Amenities include pressurized potable water, three vaulted bathrooms, and trash service. Pets are allowed but must be leashed. The area surrounds three lakes: Lost Lake, Dollar Lake, and Lost Lake Slough. Fishing is available for rainbow, cutthroat, and brook trout, which are stocked once or twice each summer. A fishing platform is located on the north side of Lake Slough. Motorized boats are prohibited. Hiking options include the 3.4-mile Three Lakes Trail and the 6.4-mile Beckwith Path. Wildflowers peak in mid-July through early August. The maximum stay is 14 days.
