Marcus Licinius Crassus is a 5.12a sport climbing route located in Kubrick's Wall, Rifle Mountain Park, Rifle, Colorado. The 40-foot (12 m) climb is situated several feet to the right of Captain Potsdorf. The route begins on slabby rock, requiring two clips before reaching a bulge. Climbers then move right across good holds that diminish in size, featuring thinker or tough moves to the anchors. Protection is provided by five clips leading to rap rings. Rifle Mountain Park offers limestone sport climbing, with a concentration of routes graded 5.12 and higher. The park is located approximately 200 miles west of Denver in a riparian mountain canyon. Climbing conditions are generally best from May through September, though the area sees significant weekend traffic during these months. The rock quality varies by aspect and wall, with some areas showing signs of frequent use such as blackened footholds. Parking is available at the site, and pets are permitted.
