About

Methane Mic is a sport climbing route located in Rifle Mountain Park, a city-owned park approximately 30 minutes from Rifle, Colorado. The specific route is 85 feet long, bolted with 10 bolts and a chain anchor, and features soft limestone edges, stems, and large flakes. It was first ascended by Dave Anderson and Terrance Johnson. The route is situated at the far right of the climbing face, starting above the right end of a log. While the broader climbing area is known for its distinctive limestone and high route density, Methane Mic itself is described as having fun, technical climbing with a high first clip. Access requires a daily or season entry pass, and parking is available in designated areas. The area is open year-round.
