Mt. Crested Butte is a 7.08-mile difficult hike located in Crested Butte, Colorado, on the Western Slope. The trail reaches an elevation of 11,398 feet and gains 3,680 feet of vertical. Hikers typically complete the route in about five hours. Access is via the Silver Queen lift from the Crested Butte Mountain Resort base area, with parking available at the trailhead. No permit is required for day hiking. The primary season runs from late June through September, with wildflowers peaking in mid-July. High routes may hold snow into early summer. Dogs are allowed on leashes.
