About

Niagaravation is a moderate, 120-foot traditional climbing route on the lower left portion of the northeast face of Niagara Peak in Silverton, Colorado. The climb is located in the Eureka area, accessible via the Burns Gulch 4x4 road. Parking is available near the trailhead. The approach takes approximately 45 minutes to one hour from the end of the drivable road. The route begins with a short, thin pillar leading to a slab. The upper 60 feet traverse around M4-5 grade terrain. Climbers should note that the rock is delaminated, which can make screw placements difficult. Belay and rappel anchors are available, though some climbers have left fixed gear; the anchor system is not fully fixed. The elevation of the spot is approximately 9,751 feet. Silverton has a year-round guide service available through San Juan Expeditions. The climbing season generally runs from late spring to fall, though conditions allow for winter access depending on road status. The area is pet-friendly.
