Oak Creek Mountain Park is a multi-use trail system located off County Road 49Z in Oak Creek, Colorado, on the Western Slope. While the park is primarily utilized for mountain biking, the trails are open to hikers. The main route is the Oak Creek Mountain Park Loop, which combines several individual trails including Elk Run, Garrity's Ridge, Columbine, Fort Road Pond Loop, and Mine Shaft. The loop offers varied terrain ranging from green to black rated trails, with Mine Shaft being the only black-rated section. The hiking experience is classified as moderate, typically taking about two hours to complete. The optimal season for fall hiking is from September through November. Parking is available at the site, and the area is pet-friendly. The park is also a venue for guided fall foliage and wildlife hikes, where visitors may observe local species such as elk, moose, and bears.
