Paleomagnetism is a 5.11 YDS trad climb located on Paleosol Wall in the Land's End Area of Grand Mesa, near Grand Junction, Colorado. The route is 50 feet long and sits at an elevation of 10,381 feet. It was first ascended by Garhart and Walters in November 2012. The climb begins on a thin, sporty face before moving up a less-than-tips flake rated green C3 to a finger lock. From there, climbers layback up to a right-facing corner that widens from hands to 5 inches and then tapers back to thin hands. The bottom section is technical, while the upper corner is described as a cruiser with good stemming opportunities. The route is positioned right of the Ultramafic route, approximately 50 feet away. Parking is available at the site, and pets are permitted. Access to the Land's End Area involves driving south from Grand Junction on US Highway 50 for about 13 miles, past Whitewater, then heading east on Kannah Creek Road for roughly 18 miles to Land's End. The rock is volcanic basalt, which is typically highly fractured, but this area features steep, featured walls with good rock quality.
