About
Pearly Burly Brooke is a 200-foot, 2-pitch trad route on Jewel of the Nile Wall in Palisade Mountain, located on the north side of Big Thompson Canyon between Loveland and Estes Park. The route features a center crack described as a splitter, starting with hard-to-protect moves before climbing straight up with mostly hands for nearly 200 feet. The second pitch continues up the crack with 5.9 boulder problems for an additional 50 to 60 feet. The rock is granite, and the area is noted for being south-facing, which supports climbing in winter and early spring. Parking is available, and the site is pet friendly. Access has been open since 2023, though climbers should verify current conditions as the Forest Service manages access via Storm Mountain Road. The route was first ascended by Morkel in 2005.
