About
Richmond Ridge Road is a 12.3-mile motorized doubletrack traversing the ridge of Aspen Mountain, connecting the Sundeck area near the Silver Queen Gondola to Taylor Pass. The route is classified as difficult, featuring steep, rocky, and loose sections that often require riders to push their bikes uphill. The southern segment above tree line is particularly rocky. Elevation reaches approximately 12,300 feet, exposing riders to alpine conditions with potential for cold weather even in mid-summer. Access is available via Aspen Mountain Summer Road, Midnight Mine Road, or Little Annie Road from the north, and Express Creek Road or Taylor Pass Road from the south. Parking is available near the Sundeck. The trail is open from April through October, subject to snow conditions, and allows pets. Bring food, water, and warm clothing.
