The River Trail is a short and easy hike that follows the course of the San Miguel River as it flows through the valley. At an elevation of 8769 feet, the trail takes hikers through a scenic landscape with surrounding mountains rising up on either side. The 1.90-mile route is generally flat and well-maintained, making it accessible to hikers of all skill levels, and parking is available at the trailhead. The trail can be hiked in about 57 minutes and is open year-round, from January through December, although winter conditions may require additional preparation and caution.
