About
The San Miguel River Trail is a graded, paved path connecting the Town of Telluride to Mountain Village. Starting near the Telluride Gondola Station, the route follows the river westward for approximately two miles to an intersection with the Boomerang Trail. The Boomerang Trail itself is a separate, steeper one-mile connector with a 700-foot elevation gain leading to Mountain Village, but the River Trail proper remains flat and easy. The trail is suitable for mountain biking and is accessible from April through October. Parking is available near the trailhead, and pets are permitted, though some sources specify they must be on a lead. The trail is part of a larger network that includes the Telluride Bike Path and Valley Floor sections.
