About
Sarlacc is a singletrack mountain bike trail in Fruita, Colorado, situated within the 18 Road network. The trail connects to Coal Creek Canyon and Edge Loop, offering technical riding with sandy washes, rocky sections, and tight turns. It features short, punchy climbs rather than sustained steep ascents, making it a demanding route for experienced riders. The trail can be ridden in either direction or as a loop with the adjacent road. Two access points exist off Coal Creek Canyon and Edge Loop. The west end begins with a steep, long climb that some riders find grueling. The east end offers an easier start, allowing riders to avoid the initial climb by entering further along Edge Loop. Riders often choose an out-and-back route from the east end to reach the overlook at the top of the west climb. Parking is available near the trailhead, with options near cattle loading pens or on V 8/10 Road. The trail is open from May through November, though some sources cite April to October. Pets are allowed on the trail.
