About

Slanty Bridge Trail is a mountain biking route located in the Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area near Montrose, Colorado. The trail traverses adobe badlands and several challenging drainages along the Loutsenhizer Arroyo. Access begins at the intersection with the Z-Ditch Trail at the north end of the adobes. Riders follow signs northwest across a wooden bridge situated a few feet above the arroyo. The route continues west along an old fence line before crossing additional narrow bridges over subsequent drainages. One bridge is noted as being higher off the ground. The trail eventually climbs out via an old doubletrack to Elephant Skin Road. The trailhead is managed by the BLM Uncompahgre Field Office. There are no bathrooms or water available at the trailhead. Pets are allowed. The trail is generally open from April through October.
