About

Soren Roof is a trad climbing route located in the Grand Junction area of Colorado’s Western Slope. The route is classified as difficult and is situated at an elevation of 6,627 feet. It is a 90-foot trad climb that features a distinctive horizontal roof section requiring climbers to use hand jams to exit. The climb begins on a flat ledge marked by a plaque, leading into a thin crack system. Climbers must navigate a lieback section before reaching the roof, which is described as intimidating. The route is located approximately five minutes up-canyon from the Flapper route. Access involves a short walk from the main climbing area. Parking is available on-site, and pets are permitted. The route is accessible year-round, from January through December. Protection includes various sizes of TCU and Camalot cams, along with a bolt for clipping. The anchor consists of chains. Climbers should note that lowering is possible but cleaning the route while lowering is difficult, so a follower is recommended. Rope management is critical near the roof, as the rope can push cams back into the crack. The route was first ascended by B.
