Strand Hill Loop is a mountain biking route near Crested Butte, Colorado, located on the Western Slope. The trail is generally considered difficult or challenging, though some sources classify it as intermediate. It is a loop that typically starts and ends in Mount Crested Butte or Gunnison County. The route covers approximately 6 to 10.2 miles with an elevation gain of around 911 feet, reaching a maximum elevation of 9,762 feet. The trailhead parking is available at the Brush Creek Trail, featuring a large lot and a short flat road section before the climb begins. Pets are allowed on the trail. The best time to ride is from April through October, with June through September offering the most reliable conditions. Early summer may see higher water levels in the canal, potentially requiring riders to walk their bikes through that section. The trail is popular for birding and hiking as well as biking.
