The hike is rated moderate and typically takes about two hours to complete at an elevation of approximately 4,900 feet. The trail is open for hiking from September through November and is dog friendly, though pets must be kept on a leash. Visitors should be aware that the park is a multi-use area where hiking trails overlap with hunting zones, so wearing bright clothing and making noise is recommended during fall hunting season.
