The Big D is a trad rock climbing route located near Palisade on the Western Slope of Colorado. Situated at an elevation of 5,180 feet, the route presents a difficult challenge for climbers. The climb features north-facing cracks and requires specific gear, including two bolts, small to medium cams, and medium or large stoppers. Access is currently open following the resolution of issues related to the Cameron Peak Fire and dead trees along Storm Mountain Road. Climbers can park at the site, and pets are permitted. The route is accessible year-round, though conditions vary with the seasons.
