The Calling, also known as Night Vision, is a sport climbing route located near Silverton, Colorado, on the Western Slope. Situated in the San Juan Mountains at an elevation of 7,748 feet, this moderate climb features a 90-foot (27-meter) vertical face. The route consists of 13 bolts leading to a two-bolt anchor, providing fixed protection for climbers. The climb begins midway up lower corridor stairs in a shallow seam next to a decomposed stump. Climbers ascend past a short red face with three bolts, navigate rampy terrain to a steep black wall, and finish below the anchors. The route was first ascended by K. Stricker on September 23, 2012. Parking is available on site, and the area is pet-friendly. Access is generally year-round, though afternoon thunderstorms are common in the region, making morning starts advisable. The terrain includes solid rock and loose scree, requiring sturdy footwear.
