About
The Colinator is a 100-foot limestone sport climbing route located in Rifle Mountain Park, specifically within the Arsenal sector. It is rated difficult, characterized as stout for its grade with varied movement and good rock quality. The route is composed of three distinct boulder problems separated by good rests, ascending the steepest and most intimidating section of the wall. The start involves meandering up and left to a huge, tombstone-shaped jug before engaging the first and hardest boulder problem, which features small crimps and a desperate cross or dyno. The middle section presents a confusing jumble of crimps, slots, and sidepulls, leading to a final insecure roof sequence before a victory march to the anchors. Access begins just left of the route Pump-o-Rama. A 70-meter rope is recommended for lowering from the anchors. The area is part of the city of Rifle, requiring a daily or season entry pass, with parking available at designated areas.
