About
The Edge Loop: Cutoff West is a 1.4-mile moderate mountain biking trail located in Fruita, Colorado, just north of Edge Cutoff East off 18 6/10 Rd. The route runs east-west and climbs gradually from the road, winding through small washes while avoiding dense shrubbery. Approximately one-third of a mile in, the trail crosses a dirt road before descending into a gully and emerging into an open area with views. From there, it descends quickly to another wash where riders should watch for cactus just off the trail. The trail lazily ascends to an intersection with Chutes & Ladders. Since Chutes & Ladders is typically ridden as a descent rather than an ascent, riders are advised to turn left at this junction and choose a descent option such as Lower Chutes & Ladders, Down Uppity, or Vegetarian Loop. The trail is accessible from April through October, offers parking, and is pet-friendly.
