The Edge Loop: Lipan Canyon Section is a 3.2-mile mountain biking trail in Fruita, Colorado, rated difficult with an elevation of 4,514 feet. The route typically takes about one hour to complete and is accessible from April through October. Parking is available at the trailhead near the Book Cliffs overlook on the north side of the road. The trail descends through pinion and juniper trees into Lipan Canyon, featuring rocky, loose surfaces that require balance. A key feature is a two-pitch rappel down a slickrock waterfall, which includes bolts and anchors. Riders can choose to rappel or hike around this section via a steep, rocky path along the slot rim. The trail exits into a sandy wash with dense vegetation and continues to an intersection with the Edge Cutoff East. The area can be hot from late spring into late fall, and water is available nearby. Pets are permitted on the trail.
