About
The War on Peace is a multi-pitch trad climb located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, at an elevation of 7,489 feet. The route consists of four pitches with a total difficulty ranging from 5.5 to 5.7. The climb begins by ascending a flake feature underneath an aqueduct, moving left to gain the next flake, and topping out on a ledge with a pine tree and a two-bolt anchor on a reddish wall. Subsequent pitches involve climbing corners, slabby sections, and wide cracks, with belay stations located on ledges featuring scrub oak and large boulders. The final pitch climbs up and right, aiming for a blue stopper in a slot, before topping out on a granite slab protected by a bolt. The route is classified as easy, with a typical duration of about 7 hours. Parking is available, and the site is pet-friendly. Access is year-round. Descent is accomplished via rappelling with a 70-meter rope, starting from the top two pitches and using specific anchors to rappel down to the base. Alternatively, climbers can scramble down to a grassy terrace or north to a large pine tree with a bolted rappel route.
