Tomboy Peak is a 13,101-foot summit located on the Western Slope of Colorado, near Telluride. It sits above the Tomboy Mine along the Imogene Pass Road between Telluride and Silverton. The peak is classified as a moderate Class 2 hike, characterized by a very rocky ascent that typically takes about two hours to complete. The trailhead is accessible from either Telluride or Ouray, though the route from Telluride is shorter. Access requires a four-wheel-drive vehicle with good clearance due to the rocky, narrow sections of the Imogene Pass road. Parking is available at the trailhead near the Tomboy Mine ruins, and pets are permitted on the trail. The hiking season extends from September through November, offering fall conditions suitable for this activity.
