Tough Enough is a long, difficult mountain biking route in the North Fruita Desert near Fruita, Colorado. The trail is approximately 37 to 45 miles long with an elevation gain that brings riders to around 7,335 feet. It is a predominantly singletrack route, described as 98% singletrack, featuring flow sections, washes, and steep climbs. The ride typically takes about 12 hours and is accessible from April through October, though it closes December 1 through May 1. Access begins at the main 18 Road parking area. A dirt road runs parallel to parts of the trail and serves as a bailout or shortcut option. Riders should carry or stash water, as natural water sources are not guaranteed. The route includes specific trail segments such as Vegetarian, Down Uppity, Edge Loop, Lipan Canyon, Cloud City, Cicada, Skywalker, Sarlacc, and Zippity. Terrain varies from fine gravel in canyon washes to loose, steep 4WD roads and sandy sections. The trail is pet-friendly and allows parking at designated areas.
