About
Turkey Neck Tower is a 50-foot trad climb located in the Things Of Beauty area near Palisade, Colorado. The tower sits on the east side of an alcove, just to the right of The Fortress. The route is graded 5.7 A3 and involves aid climbing on compressed shale with a sandstone cap rock. First ascended by Jeff Jackson, Duane Raleigh, and Pete Takeda in summer 1993, the tower is accessible from Interstate 70. Parking is available at the site, and pets are permitted. The climb is short, measuring approximately 15 meters, and is suitable for climbers seeking a relaxed experience. An attempted line with fixed anchors exists at the left edge of the spire.
