The Umbrella Bar at Ten Peaks is a mid-mountain dining and hiking destination in Crested Butte, located on the Western Slope of Colorado. Situated at an elevation of 10,150 feet near the top of the Painter Boy chairlift, it serves as a scenic stop for food and beverage service. The site offers panoramic views of the resort and surrounding peaks, with 360-degree vistas often described as postcard-perfect. Access is available by hiking, mountain biking, or driving via Prospect Road. Hikers typically reach the bar in about 2 hours by following the Up and Away trail from the base area, connecting with the Columbine and Painter Boy trails. The route passes through aspen groves and tall grasses, leading to a sun deck and circular bar structure. The difficulty is moderate, involving some incline and uneven terrain suitable for general hiking throughout the year from January to December. Parking is available at the trailhead and near the drive-up route, and pets are permitted on the trails. The facility offers various food options, including soups, chili, and hot pretzels, along with drinks. It remains open to guests during the summer season, providing a rest point for those completing the Ten Peaks area trails.
