Vestal Peak is the highest summit in Colorado’s Grenadier Range, rising to 13,867 feet. It is located in San Juan County, near Silverton, and is distinct from the more crowded 14ers. This route is widely considered a classic and does not require technical gear, though it is steeper than typical easy hikes. The peak is also home to Wham Ridge, a dramatic, north-sloping technical face that attracts climbers seeking more complex routes.
