The Wasatch Trail Loop is a 15.8-mile mountain biking route in Telluride, Colorado, classified as difficult. The trail gains significant elevation, reaching approximately 13,000 feet, with exposure above treeline for several hours. Riders typically spend about five hours on the loop, though duration varies with fitness and conditions. The route begins near town, heading toward Bridal Veil Falls, then ascends via switchbacks and 4x4 roads before crossing streams and navigating loose rock and technical descents. Key features include waterfalls, wildflowers, and high-alpine views. There is little to no cell service from the powerhouse to the pass. Riders should bring 2-3 liters of water, food, and tools, as amenities are sparse. The trail is accessible from April through October, depending on snowmelt. Parking is available at the trailhead, and pets are permitted. The descent involves steep switchbacks and consequential terrain, requiring experience. The loop can be ridden in either direction, though starting from Bridal Veil Basin or Bear Creek are common options.
