About

The Western Zippity Trail is a hiking and mountain biking route in Fruita, Colorado, located on the Western Slope. The trailhead parking is accessible from the south end of the lot. From there, the route heads west over small hills before reaching several junctions, including Kessel Run, MoJoe, and Zippity Do Da. At the Zippity Do Da intersection, hikers continue straight rather than taking the Zippity Cutoff to the left. The path then turns mostly north, ascending a ridge where it stays on top for most of the distance, offering views in all directions. The trail is classified as moderate difficulty. It is 4.5 miles long and typically takes about 2 hours and 33 minutes to complete. The elevation is listed at 4,514 feet or 5,374 feet depending on the source. The trail is accessible year-round, though some sources note trail conditions are suitable from April through October.
