When the Levee Breaks is a difficult sport climbing route located in Rifle Mountain Park, specifically near Ruckman Cave on the Western Slope. The route climbs a distinctive gray streak between Supre Guide and Cooch Cave, featuring limestone with pockets and crimps. It is approximately 70 feet long and consists of nine glue-in bolts plus an anchor. Access requires parking at Ruckman Cave and hiking up the road past the creek crossing, following a faint climbers' trail along the wall to the left of Supre Guide. Alternatively, climbers can park at the campground and hike down canyon to reach the area. The route is known for a horizontal break at the start with a long reach and lock-off, followed by steeper sections with devious sequences before easing slightly. The rock quality is variable, with some traffic needed to clean the route effectively. Parking is available, and pets are permitted in the area. The route is situated at an elevation of 5,833 feet.
