The Window Rock Trail is a short, easy loop located in Colorado National Monument near Grand Junction. The trailhead sits on the one-way road within Saddlehorn Campground, just before Book Cliffs View. The route spans approximately 0.25 to 0.31 miles and takes about a quarter hour to complete. It descends gradually through pinyon-juniper woodland, gaining minimal elevation of roughly 60 feet. The trail ends at an overlook featuring a natural window in the cliff face and a yellow railing for safety. Views extend south into Monument Canyon, showcasing major rock formations including Independence Monument, Praying Hands, and Kissing Couple. The trail is open year-round and allows hiking only; horses are prohibited and dogs are not allowed on this specific trail. Parking is available at the Saddlehorn Campground area.
