Wolf Creek Ski Area is a moderate difficulty ski destination located in Southern Colorado, approximately 80 miles from Durango. The resort sits on the Continental Divide with a summit elevation of 11,904 feet and a base elevation of 10,300 feet. It operates from early November through early April, typically offering eight hours of skiing per day. The area is known for having the highest average annual snowfall in Colorado, averaging 430 inches. This deep snowpack supports a low-density skiing experience that appeals to powder enthusiasts, families, and beginners. The terrain spans 1,600 skiable acres with a vertical drop of 1,604 feet. Trail distribution includes 20% beginner, 35% intermediate, 25% advanced, and 20% expert runs. The resort features 133 named trails with a total mileage of 42 miles, including the two-mile Navajo Trail. Infrastructure includes eleven lifts with a combined hourly capacity of 14,780 skiers. These range from high-speed detachable quads and triple chairlifts to rolling conveyors and magic carpets. Amenities on site include parking and restrooms. The resort is family-owned and located within the San Juan and Rio Grande National Forests.
