About

Treasure Falls Observation Site is a moderate, 1-mile round-trip hike located 15 miles east of Pagosa Springs on Highway 160. The trail begins at a parking area that offers restrooms and accommodates vehicles and RVs. From the lot, hikers can view the 105-foot plunge waterfall directly or take a short, steep uphill trek of approximately one-quarter mile to two observation decks near the base. The path consists of well-maintained dirt switchbacks through pine forest with an elevation gain of roughly 200 to 300 feet. The site is open year-round, though winter snow may occasionally block the entrance. Pets are allowed on leashes. The hike typically takes 30 to 45 minutes, fitting within a standard two-hour window for casual visitors.
