Access is straightforward from Silverton, which lies on US Highway 550 between Durango and Ouray. Parking is available on site, and the approach from the parking lot to the base of the climb is approximately half a mile. The trail surface is usually well-packed, making snowshoes or skis optional during winter months. Climbers can expect a full day of activity, with an estimated duration of seven hours to complete the ascent. The area is accessible year-round, from January through December. Pets are allowed on the climb and in the surrounding area. The rock type varies, with routes including both sport and traditional lines. While specific route lengths vary, the area generally features routes up to 500 feet long. The climbing season extends from late spring through fall, though ice and mixed routes are viable in winter conditions. Sun protection is recommended due to the high altitude and exposure.
