A cattail-filled pond and barren ground marked the starting point for Camp7 in 2013, when owners Scott and his partner purchased 40 private acres in Collbran, Colorado. The vision was to recreate the traditional summer camp experience of their youth, leading to a public opening in 2017 as a youth summer day camp. Days were filled with outdoor adventures like hiking, swimming, archery, and horseback riding, while evenings centered around campfires and storytelling. The pandemic shifted the focus toward smaller groups and individual retreats, emphasizing disconnection from technology and reconnection with nature. Today, the property offers lodging and camping facilities alongside scenic trails and a central pond. The location serves as a venue for milestones and creative gatherings, offering guests the chance to explore the surrounding natural beauty and wildlife just a short drive from Grand Junction.
