Since 1935, when Melvin Doughty opened a blacksmith shop in Eckert, Colorado, our family has built a reputation for precision fabrication and machining. What began as simple plow shear sharpening has evolved into Doughty Steel & Machine, a full-service manufacturing facility in Delta. We operate with the same personalized service and unwavering dedication to quality that defined our founder's early days. Today, we utilize state-of-the-art technology including CAD programs, CNC lasers, computerized press brakes, CNC lathes, mills, bed lasers, and a complete powder coating line. Our team of AWS certified welders, fabricators, machinists, and CNC specialists handles projects ranging from small custom runs to large-scale production with efficiency. In 2025, we adopted the name DSM to reflect our rich history and modern direction. We provide flexible, creative solutions for everything from décor pieces to equipment repairs, ensuring every custom project meets the highest standards.
