Our town stands as a hub of public service and mountain living, supported by a dedicated staff of approximately 80 employees who work to maintain our public resources and support the community. We provide a comprehensive range of services, including police protection, water and wastewater utilities, street and parks maintenance, and active community and economic development. Our commitment to infrastructure is evident in ongoing projects like the Capitol Street improvements, where underground utility work has wrapped up and crews are now preparing the subgrade. We also manage essential facilities such as our Yard Waste Facility, which is open exclusively to town trash customers, and we host various events that bring residents together. The Eagle River flows through our jurisdiction, where we monitor conditions closely to implement voluntary fishing closures during warm periods and enforce Stage 2 fire restrictions when weather demands it. Our e-bike ordinance, implemented in 2024, ensures safety for riders, pedestrians, and motorists, while our Consumer Water Portal helps residents manage their usage without surprises. With mountain-business casual culture, many of our staff walk or bike to work, reflecting the active lifestyle we encourage.
