About
We stand as the world’s largest flat-topped mountain, rising above western Colorado to offer a vast, accessible plateau where forests meet alpine lakes. Our drive up reveals aspen groves and numerous small lakes, with creeks winding through the terrain. Visitors traverse a scenic loop that we help them complete in roughly three hours, starting from either Grand Junction or Delta, stopping at viewpoints along the way. At our summit, a visitor center provides context for the natural surroundings, while the surrounding area supports camping, fishing, and hiking on trails that range from easy strolls to more substantial excursions. Our area is known for its bear population, requiring care with food storage, and offers distinct seasonal beauty, from lush summer greenery to bright fall colors. Exploring our open meadows or enjoying the view from the parking lot, we provide a serene escape into nature.
