Oak Point Campground

Vega State Park’s Oak Point Campground sits within a meadow surrounding a high-mountain lake in Collbran, offering 109 campsites that range from pull-through spots with electric hook-ups to ten walk-in tent sites in the Pioneer Campground. All sites feature fire pits, picnic tables, and views of the surrounding landscape. The campground provides water spigots for filling containers in Oak Point, though flushing toilets and showers are located in the nearby Early Settlers Campground. Five cozy cabins rest in a lush grove of aspens, accommodating up to six guests and available year-round. These cabins include heat, a microwave, and a refrigerator, making them suitable for winter activities like snow-sledding, snowmobiling on the Grand Mesa, and ice fishing. A dedicated group camping area accommodates weddings and other large gatherings. The park remains open daily with office hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and entrance fees for vehicles range from $10 to $15. Leashed dogs, service animals, and horses are permitted on the premises.
