About
Alton and Virginia Cole opened Ramble House on Creede’s Main Street in 1956, establishing the area’s oldest fly fishing shop. The Cole family still operates the business today, with Shane and Susan taking ownership in 1994 after Shane began working there in 1976. Their children, Cole and Kaitlin, grew up in the store, continuing the family tradition. The shop stocks an extensive inventory of rods, reels, flies, lures, tackle, waders, outdoor clothing, camping gear, gifts, and souvenirs. Beyond retail, Ramble House provides guided fly fishing trips on the historic Rio Grande River and private waters through its affiliated guide service, Creede Guide & Outfitters. These trips include float and wade options for anglers of all skill levels, with necessary gear provided. The business holds a CO License #2006 and is permitted on the Rio Grande National Forest.
