The Town of Vail operates as a local government entity dedicated to serving residents and visitors with a focus on high-quality, cost-effective services. Our mission centers on fiscal, environmental, and social sustainability, guiding everything from public safety to transportation. The communications center acts as the primary dispatch for 12 public safety agencies, including Vail Police, Vail Fire and Emergency Services, and Eagle County Paramedic Service, handling everything from 911 calls to animal control requests. We coordinate closely with local organizations like Vail Mountain Rescue and federal agencies such as the United States Forest Service. Beyond safety, we manage essential infrastructure including parking availability, seasonal bus schedules, and EV charging stations. Our green commuting initiatives, such as Sole Power Plus+, encourage walking, biking, and carpooling through trip tracking and prize incentives. Residents and visitors can stay engaged through regular Town Council meetings, Art Walks featuring tours of public art, and community events like the Fourth of July Parade and neighborhood picnics. We also provide resources for volunteer opportunities and free services to local businesses and their employees.
